Strengthening Tourism, Culture and the Arts of the Science City of Muñoz in its quest to ensure excellence and continuous improvement of local governance, the Science City of Muñoz, the first science city in the country, is committed to attain its vision to be an exemplar of good local governance, progressive and globally competitive, promoting the application of agricultural science, technologies, culture and the arts in an atmosphere of harmony and peace.

The city as a recognized center of excellence in agricultural science and technology has a diverse culture and spearheads in to transform the city into a science and technology tourism area with the establishments of several museums that highlights the advancement and specialization in agriculture.


Museums and monuments in Science City of Muñoz


The Central Luzon State University Museum, an agricultural Museum for Central Luzon involved in the preservation and continuous documentation of indigenous culture and technology. The Center laments the nation’s subservience to western culture and the derision of our own mostly as a result of colonization. It hopes to create an increased awareness and pride for the achievements and peculiarities of our own people. The Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management provides environmental education and training to professionals for careers in environmental studies, conducts researches on environmental issues and concerns, offers extension services through dissemination of environmental information for public understanding and awareness and spearheads environmental management and conservation activities in the campus and immediate environs. The Agrobiodiversity Museum houses the agrobiodiversity collection and research results of agrobiodiversity assessment studies in Central Luzon. The museum showcases crops genetic diversity, biodiversity conservation efforts, climate change impact to agrobiodiversity and indigenous crops in the Philippines. The Rice Science Museum is the only DOT and LGU-listed tourist facility in Nueva Ecija. Located in Philippine Rice Research Institute in Barangay Maligaya, Science City of Muñoz, the museum has highlighted rice science, art, and technology through material culture of rice farming communities in the country, labor and cost reducing machines, rice seeds.
