9th Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival

Parade

     Right after the thanksgiving mass the parade for 9th Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival was joined by our beloved City Mayor Hon. Nestor L. Alvarez Ph.D. Government Officials, City Councilors, Local Government Unit , the Philippine Carabao Center employees, the Munoz Central Drum and Lyre Group headed by Jun L. Castillo, Teacher 3 and the Maligaya Drum Beaters from MaligayaCabiao, Nueva Ecija.

     The parade started in front of the City Hall and ended in the Science City Pag-asa Gymnasium.

Ecumenical Services

     Ecumenical thanks giving service was made at Science City of Munoz Pag-asa Gymnasium after the 9th Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival parade.

     This was organized by the Office of the City Mayor in partnership with Christian Leaders Association in Munoz (CLAIM). Songs of praises and prayers was sung by Pastor Ronaldo Masangkay and Rev. Pastor Belinda Lanuza respectively. Rev. Felix Santua, CLAIM president gave a motivating opening remark.

     The highlights of the service was the reading of the bible for the different sectors, the local government, health, education, justice, youth, legislative, peace, agriculture and business by the government officials after which, prayers were delivered by the pastors of different Christian Leaders Association In Muñoz.

9th Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival

     The 9th Gatas ng Kalabaw program started at Science Science City of Munoz, pag-asa Gym, with the theme “ GatasTurismo: Hanap Buhay sa Kanayunan”.

     The Festival is in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) of which funds were donated by some of the organizations for the improvement and sustainability of the project.

     Our beloved City Mayor, Hon. Nestor L. Alvarez Ph. D. gave his welcome remarks. Ms. Judith P. Angeles, DTI Region III Director was the guest speaker of the said program and was introduced by DIR. BrigidaPili, Provincial Director of DTI Nueva Ecija.

     The BungkosPalay Dance Company gave an intermission number to showcase their talent. Followed by the Ceremonial milk toast and the cutting of the biggest kesong puti by Councilor Edmund Balmeo, DVM, Dr. Felomino Mamuad, Ms. Judith P. Angeles, Ms. Mikki Violago, Hon. Nestor L. Alvarez, Ph.D., Ms. Brigida Pili and Board Member Joseph Ortiz that highlights the 9th Gatas ng Kalabaw Festival. The Kesong Puti was made from 280 liters of carabao’s milk and weighs 100 kilos.

     Other activities of Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) during the program is the Milk Feeding Program, where they gave free milk/choco milk and pandesal with white kesong puti and Milk Cooking Demo of Mozzarella Cheese and Pastillas Tart.
