Mutya ng Lungsod Agham ng Muñoz 2016

     Classiness, elegance and style depicts The Mutya ng Lungsod Agham ng Munoz 2016, another superb part of the Uhay Festival that was held at the Science City of Munoz Pag-Asa Gym on January 16, 2016.

     The CLSU Maestro Singers sang “Awit ng Ina ng Santo Rosario” for the Invocation followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Munoz Hymn led by the Science City of Munoz Band conducted by Mr. Noel Magno.

     An opening remarks was given by the city vice mayor, Hon, Tekila Grace DV Alvarez and a message from the city mayor, Hon. Nestor L. Alvarez, Ph.D.

     The opening song number, “Magandang Gabi” was performed by Dr. Florante P. Ibarra, Mr. Kristian Robert M. Balatbat and Mr. Jayson T. Villena with the dance group CLSU Gintong Ani Philippines, Bungkos Palay Performing Arts Foundation and Online Movers. This was followed by the Introduction of the 17 candidates for Mutya ng Lungsod Agham ng Munoz 2016 with their festival costume that amazed the crowd with their beauty and elegance.

     The CLSU Gintong Ani Philippines performed “Singkil” for an intermission number, followed by the candidates with their casual attire. Another song number entitled “Kanta na Pilipinas” was given by the CLSU Maestro Singers and another performance entitled “Ligaw Tingin” from the CLSU Gintong Ani Philippines.

     After the production number of the candidates in their swimsuit attire, three minor awards were given: Best in Festival Costume is candidate no. 12, Hazel Mia Ancheta; Miss Photogenic is candidate no. 2, Abigail Quianio, and Miss Friendship is candidate no. 9, Trixia Rose Barutu. This was followed by the special awards: Miss Mega Savers Appliance Depot is candidate no.12, Hazel Mia Ancheta; Miss Ever Bilena is candidate no. 6, Ira Mikaela Rodolfo; Miss Natasha is candidate no. 11, Lovely Claire Galindez; Miss Olay is candidate no. 5, Karolina Porcioncula; Miss Avon is candidate no. 4, Mary Joyce Eligado; Miss Touch Mobile is candidate no. 9, Trixia Rose Barutu and Miss Nailandia is candidate no. 12, Hazel Mia Ancheta.

     “Hataw na” was performed by the X-Pointer Dancers and “Panderetas” by the CLSU Gintong Ani Philippines. “Rigodon Royale” was performed by the candidates together with their escorts.

     Munoz National Highschool performed the “Tinikling” while the BagongSikat Elementary School for the “Sayaw sa Bangko”. Both are winners in the Folk Dance Festival. Candidates in their formal attire were serenade by Mr. Gabe Gumba who sang “All of me” and “Jealous”.

     The major awards given were: Best in Swimsuit: candidate no. 12, Hazel Mia Ancheta; Best in Casual attire: candidate no. 13, Angelica Joyce Manenes and Best in Formal attire is candidate no. 12, Hazel Mia Ancheta. The Announcement of the top 8 candidates for the evening follows as well as the introduction of the set of judges. The top 8 candidates were candidate no.1, Salini Theamudu; no.6, Ira Mikaela Rodolfo; no.2, Abigail Quiano; no.12, Hazel Mia Ancheta; no.8, Mariane Maniego; no. 13, Angelica Joyce Manenes; no.14,Freiliz Vergara and no.16.Lizalyn Pineda. The top 8 candidates were asked to pick one question to answer.

     CLSU Maestro Singers gave another song number entitled “Handog” after which the top 3 was announced and each of them picked one topic for their extemporaneous speech. The top 3 were candidate no. 2, Abigail Quiano, candidate no.12, Hazel Mia Ancheta and candidate no.13, Angelica Joyce Mananes.

     For the final performance, the CLSU Gintong Ani Philippines, Bungkos Palay Performing Arts Foundation, Maligaya Elementary School, Bagong Sikat Elementary School and Munoz National High School performed “Pandanggo sa Ilaw/OASIWAS, followed by the Farewell Walk and message of Ms. Janille Kaye Domingo Cuevas, Ms. Munoz 2015.

     The winners are, for the 2nd runner up, candidate no. 2, Abigail Quiano, 1st runner up is candidate no. 13, Angelica Joyce Mananes and candidate no. 12, Hazel Mia Ancheta as the Mutyang Lungsod Agham ng Munoz 2016.
