SDG-FACES Milk Feeding Program
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has 17 sustainable goals that help uplift the lives of people by eradicating poverty and reduce inequalities in 170 countries and territories including the Philippines in sustainable ways.
Under the leadership of Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez, Ph.D., the Science City of Muñoz supports this program by implementing projects under the different goals among which is the Milk Feeding Program in coordination with the Philippine Carabao Center under Dr. Arnel N. Del Barrio, Executive Director. This morning, September 17, 2018, 40 recipient pupils were presented to Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez,Ph.D., Dr. Del Barrio, Ms. Mina P. Abella, Supervising Science Research Specialist, Philippine Carabao Center, Dr. Anabelle S. Sarabia, Chief Research and Development Division of PCC, city councilors and Barangay Chairman Cesar T. Viloria of Poblacion East. The pupils will be given milk for the feeding program for 120 days amounting to seventy thousand pesos (Php 72,000.00). Signing of Memorandum of Agreement and giving of bags followed after the flag raising ceremony.
Science City of Muñoz represented by Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez, Ph.D. and Mr. Joel Fernandez of the City Planning and Development Office was invited in Cambodia last August 20-21, 2018 to present the Sustainable Development Goals-Family Based Actions for Children in their Environs in the Slums(SDG-FACES) program as the best in the ASEAN.
