SPES Beneficiaries 2019 of Science City of Muñoz




Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) is mandated under Republic Act No. 7323 otherwise known as "An Act To Help Poor But Deserving Students Pursue Their Education By Encouraging Their Employment During Summer and/or Christmas Vacations, Through Incentives Granted to Employers, Allowing Them to Pay Only Sixty Per Centum of Their Salaries or Wages and Forty Per Centum Through Education Vouchers To Be Paid By the Government, Prohibiting and Penalizing The Filing of Fraudulent and Fictitious Claims, and For Other Purposes." The objective of SPES is to develop the intellectual capabilities of children of poor families and harness their potentials for the country's well-being. Specifically, the Program aims to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by providing income or augment their income through encouraging their employment during summer and/ or Christmas vacations.

Among the 170 SPES beneficiaries of the city, one hundred thirty four (134) recipients were designated at the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the remaining 36 has been assigned to other agencies like PCC, PhilRice, Water District and others.

Last June 4,2019 at the Conference Room of Science City of Muñoz City Hall, forty (40)SPES payees of Science City of Muñoz received their salary amounting to eight thousand one hundred twenty one pesos and eighty centavos (Php8,121.80) each.
