LGU-Science City of Muñoz receives Certification of Seal of Child Friendly Local Governance award from DSWD
The Local Government Unit-Science City of Muñoz headed by Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez, Ph.D. has received a 2014 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance by the Council for the Welfare of Children during the Flag-raising ceremony last February 23, 2015, handed by the City Social Welfare and Development Officer Head, Myrna B. Estrada.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assessed the performance of the Local Government Unit (LGU) in the delivery of social services that promotes the welfare of children.
This was called the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), the audit system measured LGUs performance in the delivery of services that generates positive results for children.
The Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance covers for its commitment in promoting child rights to survival, development, protection and participation, towards a Child-Friendly Philippines. The seal aims to honor deserving local government units in supporting the need to protect children’s rights.
